Chrono Aviation was founded in Quebec City in 2012. In its early days, the airline operated a Pilatus PC-12 and employed two pilots. Chrono quickly attracted clients seeking a comfortable, efficient, and safe flying experience.
After a decade in business, Chrono Aviation has expanded its fleet to 15 aircraft and employs over 200 people. Chrono is a Quebec-based airline offering planes that can accommodate between 9 and 120 passengers, exclusively for charter flights. With bases in Montreal and Quebec City, Chrono continues its expansion, reinforcing its position as a leader in the charter flight industry in Quebec and Canada.
Role and context
The Financial Controller oversees all financial operations of the company and ensures sound management of accounting and budgetary resources in a context of rapid growth. This individual develops, implements, and monitors financial policies while ensuring regulatory compliance and the achievement of profitability goals. As a key member of the leadership team, the Financial Controller plays a strategic role in the company’s development by supporting growth initiatives and providing in-depth financial analysis to guide decision-making.
Key responsibilities
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with tax obligations and current accounting standards
• Participate in cash flow management, financial forecasting, and budgeting
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls
• Supervise the accounting team and support skill development
• Actively participate in external and internal audits
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure sound financial management of projects
• Optimize financial processes and contribute to ongoing process improvement

Specific job requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• Professional CPA designation (mandatory)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or financial control, including at least 2 years in a management role
• Experience in a growth or organizational transformation environment (a strong asset)
• Familiarity with Sage accounting software
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards
• Experience in the aviation or transportation sector (asset)
• Fluency in French is required for this role. In addition, advanced English skills are also required to interact with English-speaking clients in Canada and globally.
